A couple weekends ago Patrick and his friend Rickard spent a few days hiking the Superior Hiking Trail on the North Shore. This isn't my story to tell, but Patrick did take a ton of photos for me so here is a brief synopsis of the trip.
They left early Friday morning and arrived at their destination around 10am. They spent the whole day on Friday hiking over rocks and tree roots.
After 12 miles of hiking they arrived at their destination and set up their campsite. With the supplies on their back they set up their tents, made a fire and cooked their dinner. They also had to put their food and bathroom supplies in a tree to keep the bears away.
The next day they ate breakfast and packed up their bags and were back on the trail by 11am.
After 10 miles of hiking on the second day they arrived at a new destination and set up another campsite.
It was a cold night, Patrick left his water bottle outside and by morning the water had frozen.
After breakfast and packing they headed out on the trail again.
After a 5 mile hike, my brother Luke picked them up and they headed to Pizza Luce in Duluth for a late lunch. Patrick is pretty into this backpacking stuff, so I see a few trips in my future.
