Easter Egg Decorating

Last Friday night Patrick and I decorated some Easter Eggs. I had seen some where that you could use things you have around the house to dye the eggs, so I did a little googling and found this article on Better Homes and Gardens. We didn't really want to buy extra food that would go to waste, so we used mostly stuff we had around. The colors we tried were: red cabbage to color the eggs blue, turmeric for yellow eggs, a crystal light pomegranate packet for the pink eggs and coffee for brown eggs. We also tried using dill weed to color the eggs green, but that didn't work even after soaking the egg overnight. The article says to use dill seed, so we might have to try that next year. This takes quite a bit longer than the store bought dyes, but it was fun for us to try out.
