This year Patrick and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary. With our busy summer we thought about going camping somewhere for the weekend, but decided to stay home instead. We got reservations to the Union Rooftop about a month before our anniversary and then figured we would go from there once the day got closer. On the day of I decided to look for a hotel and ended up getting a good deal on a room at the Hyatt. We originally were going to go to Marvel Bar, which is attached to the Bachelor Farmer, for drinks but that was just too far of a walk from the Hyatt so we ended up getting a couple drinks at the Newsroom before dinner.
Dinner at Union Rooftop was really fun. We ordered these savory bacon donut holes for an appetizer and they were really good. For our main meal I ordered Rainbow Trout and Patrick ordered the Sea Bass. Once we left the restaurant we decided to explore downtown since we had a hotel room for the night. We ended up watching a some of the Packer preseason game at an outdoor bar and then heading to Pizza Luce for a late night snack. It was a great way to spend our anniversary. It was fun to be out without any responsibilities and just go and do what we wanted wanted. The next morning we even stopped for donuts at the Wuollet Bakery that Patrick has been raving about. And to top it off we played the new checkers game Patrick got me for our anniversary as well as made these awesome chicken bacon burgers from scratch for dinner Saturday night.
