Packers vs. Washington Redskins

Last weekend we celebrated our 31st birthdays by going to a Packer game at Lambeau Field. Our birthday weekend started off early Saturday morning driving to High Cliff State Park in Appleton, Wisconsin which was about 40 minutes from Green Bay. We were planning on doing some hiking around the park or even enjoying the park, but that just didn't happen. We took a nap and then went to dinner at Pizza King and then went to Buffalo Wild Wings for drinks and wings. I guess we were both exhausted from a long week, so it worked out well to just relax.

On Sunday it was raining when we got up, so we had the annoying task of putting our tent away in the rain. Yuck, that is not a fun experience and it continued into the week since it never really dried at home until we set it up in the garage to dry out. After our departure we headed to Lambeau for the game.

If you know anything about the Green Bay Packers, it's that the fans are very loyal to their team. And because of this is very hard to get season tickets, but a few years ago Patrick signed us both up for the regular season ticket and the premium seat list. We are number 80,000 on the regular list, but that number on the premium list kept getting closer to zero every year. And then earlier this summer Patrick got an e-mail seeing if he would be interested in purchasing premium season tickets. We ended up purchasing them and splitting them with two of his cousins and his uncle. We went to our first game a few years ago and sat in regular seats and that was a pretty cool experience, but I have to say the premium seats are pretty awesome. The premium seats have their own entrance, heating & air conditioning, different food vendors, cushioned seats and beverage service. I never thought I would think this, but they are definitely worth the premium price. I may have a skewed view on this since it was raining pretty hard our entire walk to the stadium and it was during this time we figured out that my raincoat was not that effective in keeping my clothes dry. Even though the rain stopped before the game started it was awesome to watch the game from inside. You don't see some of the craziness that is in the regular seats, but it was pretty awesome to be there. And the Packers beat the Redskins 38-20 so it was fun game to watch as well.
